10 Geek Movies of 2012 You Should Not Miss

2012 will be another year about set to hit plenty of flicks about superheroes, aliens and technology-gone-crazy on the big screen. If you call yourself a geek, then this is the ultimate list of Geek movies you should not miss in 2012.

10. Men in Black -3

The film “Men in Black” was released in 1997 and 2002 and became two of the most successful films in the history of Columbia Pictures, raising over a billion dollars worldwide. The first part won an Academy Award for Best Makeup, plus it was nominated for two Oscars.

In this version the Agent J (Will Smith) travel back in time to meet a young Agent K (Josh Brolin), with the goal of saving the world again.

Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are returning as producers, and Sonnenfeld, who directed the first two parts, directs the film from a screenplay by Etan Cohen, based on the comic written by Lowell Cunningham. Steven Spielberg is executive producer.

9. Dredd

In the year 2139, humanity lives in a permanent wrapped violence. However, in Megacity One, one of the three mega cities in the U.S. there is a man willing to fight against crime: the implacable Judge Dredd.

There’s a new JUDGE in town and it’s Karl Urban playing Judge Dredd in 2012. Unlike the previous Judge Dredd movie, Karl Urban has confirmed that the helmet will never come off to keep true to the comic book character.

8. Prometheus

A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Will be released on 8th June.

7. Dark Shadows

Warner Bros. is ramping up a feature version of the supernatural soap opera DARK SHADOWS, set up with Johnny Depp and Graham King’s GK Flms. Studio’s signed Seth Grahame-Smith, who penned the novel “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” to pen DARK SHADOWS. Depp is only attached as a producer at this point.

6. Amazing Spiderman

Another movie blockbuster waiting to be in July 2012 is “The Amazing Spider-Man” to reinvent the success of the three previous films.

So the story starts from the ‘Peter Parker’s childhood, when parents entrust him to his uncles, Ben (Martin Sheen) and May (Sally Field), then continue with the Youth and early superhero, to report that this time Peter did not fall in love with Mary Jane, but Gwen Stacy.

5. The Dark Knight Rises 2012

After the huge success of “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” Christopher Nolan returns to Gotham City for the final part of the Batman trilogy. Christian Bale is back in the role of Bruce Wayne / Batman.

4. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace

No, it’s not the seventh Star Wars movie, but it is the first or fourth movie (depending on how you count) that may be a re-launch in 3D. The registration chair sits the Star Wars creator George Lucas in person. This Star Wars movies at the cinema is to be expected on 10 Feb 2012.

3. Avengers

The Avengers, written and directed by Joss Whedon, famous for, among other things, Buffy the Vampire and Slayer FireFly. This may be one of the year 2012′s really big action movies in the genre!

2. Resident Evil: Retribution

Milla Jovovich has become synonymous with zombie fighter Alice in “Resident Evil” series, and what else to expect with the success of these screen versions have had. Again, we see her take on Umbrella and obviously directing her husband Paul WAS Anderson. Coming in Theaters on 14 Sept 2012.

1. The Hobbit: An unexpected journey – December 12

All the “Lord of the Rings” fans hold their breath and hope that Peter Jackson gives us a fantasy-adventure we remember. Although this is Bilbo Baggins in focus, but in slightly younger version than the “Lord of the Rings”.

“The Hobbit” follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins main character, resulting in a heroic quest to regain the lost kingdom of the dwarves of Erebor, long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Addressed by surprise by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself in a integrated company of dwarves led by Thorin, legendary warrior. This journey will take them to the Savage Land, through dangerous territory teeming with goblins and orcs, wargs of assassins and huge spiders and sorcerers.
