ASUS Eee Pad Slider: 10.1 Android 3.1 Tablet with Sliding Keyboard Launched
After the success of Eee Pad Transformer, ASUS has come up with Eee Pad Slider tablet with innovative slide-and-tilt keyboard. It is ready for launch and distribution will begin from South Africa where it is priced at 5,999 R and then extend globally. South Africa will be the first country to attend the launch of Asus Eee Pad Slider, the tablet with a sliding keyboard waiting for months now.
The news comes a press release issued by the Taiwanese, which also cites the price of the device on the South African market, amounting to R 5,999, about 890 U.S. dollars. Unfortunately Asus does not provide a precise date on the release of the Eee Pad Slider, but the official statement is undoubtedly an important signal of its proximity.

ASUS Eee Pad Slider Tech Specs
All specifications are confirmed at the time of launch. Asus Eee Pad Slider will be equipped with Android OS 3.1 out of the box but the company promises will soon switch to Android 3.2 over-the-air. The tablet also offers a dual core processor Nvidia Tegra 2.1 GHz, 10-inch IPS screen with a 1280×800 resolution, 5 megapixel back camera and a 1.2 megapixel front.

ASUS Eee Pad Slider Price and release date
This model will come with 32 Gbytes storage in two colors, brown and white. The highlight, besides the innovative design is its price, which will cost 499 €, the same as the ASUS Eee Transformer Pad of 16 Gbytes with a keyboard, or the iPad 2 of 16 Gbytes.

In Phone House’s August catalog, the Eee Pad Slider is listed at €349, the equivalent of $467 on contract with ZON. Off contract, the Slider goes for €479 or $684. And although it’s been given an August release for the UK but it is expected to be launched by September in US too.







Looks like Asus is getting ready to launch the long-awaited Eee Pad Slider tablet, as the company has launched the official product page as seen here. The tablet originally made its debut back in January during CES 2011, and was expected to launch in May. But now the projected launch date is unofficially in September with the arrival of two models: the $400 16 GB version and the $500 32 GB version
