Erase Printed Text From Paper Using Revolutionary Toshiba’s New Copier

| March 15, 2012 | 0 Comments

Toshiba Tec is developing a copier that can be used to erase printed text from a sheet of photocopy paper. It basically uses a special erasable toner and when a page is passed through it, the printed text (printing) disappears, hence the paper can be used again.

Features of Erasable Ink

The special toner ink possesses the property of losing color when heated, so this technology makes it look as if the printed text has disappeared. Any regular paper can be used though the toner can only be used with compatible copiers.

The device also comprises of a scanning unit which can be used to save the data before erasing the printed text. The paper can used for atleast 5 times though some imprints are left after erasing hence papers containing confidential material should be avoided.

One of the best feature of the copier is that it can sort out pages that can be used and cannot be used into different trays, minimizing customer effort in using it.

Availability

The product is not yet available but is expected to be available by the winter. The product in its initial release will have its toner in blue color though color versions would be developed soon.

Pricing

The pricing of the system hasn’t been decided yet, though Toshiba Tec claims that they would try to put a nominal price tag especially keeping in mind the kind of costing a current system would be incurring in its usage.

Review

The group claims that each photocopy paper can be used five times, in the process becoming an economical option and because of the reuse of paper we do our bit for the environment. The system henceforth is a great combination of economy with ecology. The system could prove to be a perfect alternative to the current systems being used in large organizations for printing and copying.
